With this mini MP3 module from DFRobot you can play various music formats and have this controlled by an Arduino, for example. The music to be played can be put on an SD card and the built-in amplifier makes playback easy with only the need of a small speaker. The module can be controlled digitally via UART, but possibly also with a combination of buttons and resistors (see the information link at the bottom of this page).
