Some modules work with 3.3V I2C or UART, so this module can convert the voltages, in case your system works with 5V (for example your 5V Arduino).

Besides that, the module has a built-in voltage regulator that converts 5V to 3.3V/100mA. Also handy for when you need to supply a 3.3V module with power, when it does not have a buit-in regulator.

The pinout can be seen underneath:

Connect AVCC to 5V
Connect ASCL to the SCL/TX pin of a 5V system
Connect ASDA to the SDA/RX pin of a 5V system
Connect AGND to the GND of a 5V system

Connect BVCC to the 3.3V of the system
Connect BSCL to the SCL/RX pin of the 3.3V system
Connect BSDA to the SDA/TX pin of the 3.3V system
Connect BGND to the GND of the 3.3V system

This module can only be used to go from 5V to 3.3V. The voltage regulator can only convert 5V to 3.3V. If you want to connect a 5V module to a 3.3V you can do it in the following way:

Connect AVCC to the 5V (5V power supply line)
Connect ASCL to the SCL/TX pin of a 5V system
Connect ASDA to the SDA/RX pin of a 5V system
Connect AGND to the GND of the 5V system

Do not connect BVCC
Connect BSCL to the SCL/RX pin of a 3.3V system
Connect BSDA to the SDA/TX pin of a 3.3V system
Connect BGND to the GND of a 3.3V system

Note: The pin headers for this module are not soldered yet. If you want to use the pin headers you have to solder them yourself.
