The Atom Echo from M5Stack is a compact development board based on an ESP32 chipset. Among other things, it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In addition, this module also has a built-in push button, microphone and speaker.

The board has a USB-C connection with which it can be programmed and/or powered (USB-C cable is not included). The programming languages UIFlow, MicroPython and Arduino are supported. 

With this Atom Echo module, music can be played from a phone or tablet using the bluetooth function of the ESP32. The module contains an RGB LED that shows the connection status of the bluetooth speaker. In addition, there is also a microphone with which sound can be recorded.

*Note: The pins on the board are directly connected to the ESP32 chip and are therefore only suitable for 3.3V signals.

Note: Try to avoid the following situations with the Atom Echo:

  1. Use DC output from the I2S channel
  2. Playing white noise for a long time
  3. Playing "Full square-wave audio"
